Dr. Lisa Mausbach

DVM

Dr. Mausbach earned her DVM from Colorado State University in 1998. After completing a small animal rotating internship at a busy AAHA-accredited multi-specialty, emergency, and general practice, she remained on staff as a tenured clinician for almost 20 years. In the 2nd half of her career, Dr. Mausbach has found a passion for high-volume high-quality spay/neuter [HVHQSN] surgery along with a mission to help increase access to affordable veterinary surgical care. Her ambition to open a surgery and procedure-focused veterinary clinic in the Denver metro area has resulted in the opening of Second Chances Veterinary Care.

Lexi W.

Senior Technician

Lexi is the Senior Tech at Second Chances Veterinary Care (SCVC). Lexi began her veterinary career 15 years ago and earned her RVT certification in 2022. Lexi has extensive experience in emergency and dental practice.

Outside of the clinic, Lexi enjoys all outdoor activities. She is also the proud pet parent of a Golden Retriever, Bowie, and two cats, Moose and Bear.

Julia M.

Technician

Julia is one of the newest techs at Second Chances Veterinary Care (SCVC). She recently graduated in December 2023 from the Vet Tech Institute of Houston. She completed her externship at the Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), one of the nation’s largest animal shelters.

Julia recently relocated to Colorado from Texas with her dog, Filomena, and her cat Scarlett. In her free time, Julia enjoys reading, with her favorite genres being horror and fantasy.

Eli R.

Technician

Eli started his journey with Second Chances Veterinary Care (SCVC) in May 2024. Eli is a 6-year veteran of the field and has touched nearly 30,000 surgeries, many of which occurred with Emancipet – one of the largest high-volume spay/neuter non-profits in the country.

Eli is an accomplished chef specializing in open-fire wood grilling. He also enjoys video games and music in his off time.

ElliAna J.

Inventory Coordinator

ElliAna joined Second Chances Veterinary Care (SCVC) in January of 2024 while in her junior year of high school. She supports many roles of the clinic, including inventory coordination and by making sure all of the necessary surgical packs are prepared.

ElliAna currently resides in Wheat Ridge, CO with her family. ElliAna is preparing for her senior year at Wheat Ridge High School where she is a member of the Gifted and Talented program. She enjoys spending time at the lake with family and friends,

Cole C.

Customer Service Representative

Cole started at Second Chances Veterinary Care (SCVC) as a customer service rep in June 2024. Cole recently graduated with honors in the class of 2024 from Eagle Crest High School in Aurora, CO. He plans to attend Colorado School of Mines in the fall of 2024 where he will pursue a career in human medicine.

Cole currently resides in Parker, CO with his family where he is the oldest of three siblings. Cole is a very experienced cross-country athlete and enjoys various outdoor activities.
